Teeth Cleaning

I've been planning on getting the boys teeth cleaned for a while now as their breath has become pretty horrible. I am getting my yearly bonus on December 13th so I called the Vet today to get quotes on getting this done as well as getting a wart removed from Ickis' face which will probably have to be biopsied. She just called back and it's going to be $275 a pup for teeth cleaning plus $60 each for x-rays if I want them for more detail on the teeth. Ickis will cost a total between $275 and $475 for the cleaning and the removal of the wart!

OUCH!

I think my pocketbook is going to be hurting more than the pugs! I just hope that they don't have to get any teeth pulled in addition or else it will be even more! *cries*

  1. The things we do (and the $$ we spend!) to keep our pets healthy and happy! I can TOTALLY relate to the pain in the pocketbook! :(

  3. Ouch is right! I was thinking about the same for mine but had no idea what to expect. I better call and ask what my vet charges. With Bandit this year, I have no more pocketbook for there to be a pain in.....lol.

  4. Wow! Mom thinks that her vet told her to brush their teeth with the dog toothpaste and as long as it gets in their mouth that was good. But it was a long time ago, and she can't remember so well.

  5. But look at how cute they are! And imagine how cute they will be with less-stinky breath. :) Hehe.

  6. Hi! I got Coco's teeth cleaned for the first time in July (he is 3 years old), when it was recommended to be done like 2 years before!. It was very expensive (over $ 200) but I was told by the vet that if you brush their teeth regularly (maybe 3 - 4 times per week) you can help them keep their teeth in better conditions. Coco didn't have bad breath but his teeth were turning yellow. I have seen pugs loose their teeth and that scares me... but I keep forgetting to wash his regularly!
